E-Z-GO's Lineup at a Glance
According to E-Z-GO's own site, the personal lineup is five vehicles: the two-seat RXV 2 ("electric, lithium, or gas options," starting at $9,274), the four-seat RXV 4 (electric or gas, from $10,349), the Liberty 4 (electric or gas, from $11,999), the all-electric, all-forward-facing Liberty 4F (from $13,499), and the six-seat Express 6 (electric or gas, from $12,149). Those are E-Z-GO's published starting prices; dealers set their own.
Two things stand out for a Michigan buyer. First, E-Z-GO still sells gas: the RXV 4 and Express 6 each offer a 13.5-hp gas engine alongside a 48V lead-acid electric and an ELiTE lithium option. Second, its lithium story is a strong one: E-Z-GO's ELiTE page says the packs are "powered by trusted and reliable Samsung SDI lithium batteries," need "zero maintenance," and that "8 years of coverage for the battery are included with purchase."
On street-legal, E-Z-GO's LSV page designates two models — the Liberty 4 and Liberty 4F — as low-speed vehicles that "allow you to travel up to 25 mph" on public roads "with speed limits of 35mph or less," built to the FMVSS 500 federal standard and the SAE J2358 industry standard. On the Liberty 4F, the street-legal build is the top XTL trim, listed at $16,299. The LSV page lists no RXV or Express configuration.
What ICON and EPIC Bring
Every ICON and EPIC on our models page is electric — there is no gas option, and for a cart that lives in a garage and runs around a neighborhood or a lake lot, we think that's the right call. All of them run eco lithium packs (51.2V/105Ah on every model we stock), top out at 25 mph, and are available in DOT-compliant, street-legal configurations.
ICON is the lifted, feature-dense value play. The four-seat i40X and i40FX ($12,295) and the six-seat i60LX ($13,795) are all lifted, all on the 51.2V/105Ah pack (ICON lists 30–50 miles on the i40X and i60LX and 40+ on the i40FX), with a 10.1-inch touchscreen or 10-inch multimedia display, backup camera, Bluetooth audio, and LED lighting standard. EPIC is the luxury end. The four-seat E40FX ($13,995) — the PGA Show winner in our lineup — and the six-seat E60FX ($15,999) pair a 6.3kW AC motor with a 10-inch multimedia display, wireless charging pad, four-speaker marine-grade audio, backup camera, push-button start, and 40+ miles of range. Why Street-Legal Matters More in Michigan Than It Used To
Michigan defines a low-speed vehicle by pointing at the federal standard: MCL 257.25b says an LSV is a self-propelled motor vehicle that conforms to 49 CFR 571.3(b) and meets 49 CFR 571.500, and that federal standard caps top speed at 25 miles per hour and requires headlamps, turn signals, taillamps, stop lamps, reflectors, an exterior mirror, a parking brake, a windshield, seat belts, and a VIN. The short version: a factory-built LSV — an E-Z-GO Liberty, or a street-legal ICON or EPIC — gets titled and plated at the Secretary of State; a bare golf cart does not.
